The short version

BritCrown.Hub is free to read. We fund the testing through affiliate commission: some links to gambling operators are commercial, and if you open an account after following one, the operator may pay us a fee. The fee comes out of the operator's marketing budget, not your pocket. Your terms, your bonus and your account are identical whether you arrive through us or type the address yourself.

Which links are commercial

Every commercial link on this website is labelled. On a review you will see a note next to the button saying it is a commercial link, and the link itself carries rel="sponsored nofollow" in the markup so that search engines are told the same thing our readers are.

As at 11 August 2026, we have a commercial affiliate relationship with the operators behind:

Links to BeGambleAware, GamStop, Gamblers Anonymous, the Gambling Commission and the Information Commissioner's Office are never commercial. We are paid nothing for those and never will be. They are there because you might need them.

What an operator can influence

Almost nothing, and we want to be precise about the boundary rather than vague about it. An operator can:

• ask us to correct a factual error, which we will do if they are right;
• tell us a feature has changed, which we will then re-test ourselves before changing a word;
• ask to be reviewed, and join the queue like everyone else.

What an operator cannot influence

• a score, or any part of the scoring model or its weightings;
• a ranking position on the homepage or the reviews page;
• whether a criticism stays in the review — it stays;
• whether we mention that a brand is a white label rather than a direct licence holder;
• whether we publish a payout time we measured that is slower than they would like;
• the order of our comparison table, which is generated from the scores.

We have declined requests in each of these categories, and we will keep declining them. If an operator withdraws a commercial relationship over an honest review, the review stays up unchanged and we remove the commercial link. That is the whole point of writing the rule down before it is tested.

How ranking order is decided

Purely by the weighted score described on our About page. Payout speed carries the heaviest weight at 25%, followed by safer gambling tools and terms transparency at 20% each. Commission rates are not an input to the model, and the person who runs a test is not told what a brand pays.

For complete transparency: the two brands we currently review pay different commission rates, and the brand that pays us less is ranked first. That is not a coincidence we engineered — it is what happens when you score on withdrawal speed.

Advertising

We pay to advertise this website, including on Microsoft Advertising. Our adverts point to pages we own on this domain, describe what those pages actually contain, and are targeted only at adults in the United Kingdom. We do not use redirect chains, cloaking, or destination pages that differ from what an advert promises. We do not advertise operator bonuses as though they were our own offers, because they are not ours to offer.

What we are not

We are not a gambling operator and we hold no gambling licence, because we carry out no licensable activity: no deposits, no customer funds, no wagers. We are not owned by, or under common ownership with, any operator we review. Nobody on the editorial team holds a financial interest in any brand covered on this website beyond the affiliate arrangements described above.

Regulatory context

UK gambling advertising and affiliate marketing is subject to the Gambling Commission's Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice, the CAP Code and the UK Advertising Standards Authority's rules, which among other things prohibit appeal to under-18s and require that gambling is not presented as a solution to financial problems or as a route to success. We hold our own content to those standards even though we are the publisher rather than the licensee, and we welcome being held to them.
